Safari Club
Jump in your 4 x
4 and grab your binoculars, it's time for Safari Club! Your child will
learn about a different animal each week, including what it eats, where it
lives and its general characteristics. An animal
encyclopedia organized by continents will also incorporate a geography component.
Steps to Science
Steps to
Science is a year-long science experience with emphasis on exploration,
investigation and simple experimentation of scientific concepts. Each week
your child will bring home a ‘science sack,’ which will enable him to share
the concept learned that day. Some of the topics covered include weather,
gravity, machines, body parts, astronomy, geometric shapes, and many more.
With a new topic every week, the learning never stops.
This program presents
your young child with activities that help spark an interest in observing
and questioning the world. The physical and natural sciences are
covered in ways that help him learn and ask questions
by doing.
Computers
Computertots--specialists
in computer-aided education--have put together an
exciting
program for
your child.
Computertots' certified teachers introduce your child
to
age
appropriate software and the latest peripheral devices (touch windows, mice
etc.) The aim is to allow your child to interact with the
computer in a positive, enjoyable way and to appreciate the computer as one
of many learning tools. Introduced in a discovery-oriented fashion, each
lesson is filled with laughter and learning.
Computertots
is an
additional option to the day.
There is an additional fee for the
Computertots
class, which is billed
directly each month by
Computertots
.
Gym
The gym enrichment program engages
your child in games that will
augment skills developed in our special physical education classes. Your
child
will further her throwing, catching, running, striking and skipping
skills through simple group games, relays, basketball, volleyball,
football and floor hockey.
Spanish
Classes are
taught on an appropriate level for each age group that attends.
Children who have had Spanish in previous years will advance to their next
level.
My
Storybook
A library
enrichment in which a story is read covering a variety of literature and a
subsequent page is made. The pages will be bound into a book to be
taken home at the end of each semester.
